What is a veneer?

Veneers are a long-term cosmetic solution used to improve your smile. They can assist with a variety of dental problems, such as chipped, crooked or discoloured teeth. Crafted by hand, using porcelain cases that are fixed to and cover your existing teeth, veneers provide a stunning improvement to your smile. Veneers are completely customisable to suit your facial structure and desired look.

When would
I need a veneer?

Porcelain veneers improve the colour, shape and position of your natural teeth. A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured tooth or to transform your whole smile. Veneers can also be used to close small gaps, when orthodontics (braces) are not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can often be fitted to bring it into line with the others.

What are the advantages
of veneers?

Veneers ensure that your teeth look healthy and natural. Made from ultra-thin porcelain, and held in place with a strong adhesive, veneers require minimal preparation. You can select the exact shade and shape that you desire, leaving you in complete control of your new smile.

Veneers are a great cosmetic solution for gaps between teeth, complete smile transformations, discolouration, chips, cracks, and even minor misalignment. There are many advantages in choosing veneers as your cosmetic dental treatment.
Veneers should be looked after just like standard teeth. Brushing twice daily and using interdental brushes whilst also limiting your exposure to food and drink prone to causing staining, such as coffee.
To prepare your teeth for a standard veneers requires removing a small layer of enamel about ½-1mm from the front surface of the tooth. It’s a painless procedure. Veneers are then bonded to the tooth using dental grade adhesive.
Depending on how well they are looked after, you can expect your new Veneers to last between 5-20 years before they need replacing.
